ITV: White House Farm (Jeremy Bamber)
The true story of the massacre at White House farm in Essex back in 1985.

Anyone else watching it? Very good except for Stephen Graham’s welsh accent.

Remember this happening... him crying at the funeral the absolute snake.

35 years inside and still claiming his innocence.... surely not...

Wasn't it Bamber himself, when outside with the law, who suggested there was someody moving in one of the windows ? And the copper more recently said it was a shadow cast in the moonlight. If so, how the fick is that new evidence !!

More and more desperate as the years roll by it seems

'It is the ultimate alibi': Jeremy Bamber insists new evidence proves he didn't murder his family in farmhouse killings - because he claims he was speaking with police when someone was alive inside
Bamber, 59, says he was speaking to police outside while murders took place
He claims schizophrenic sister murdered her sons and parents before suicide
Sheila Caffell, 26, her twin boys Nicholas and Daniel, six, and parents Nevill and June, both 61, died in a four-hour attack at White House Farm in Essex in 1986
Essex Police have always said everyone was dead before they spoke to Bamber

Do you know that never even occurred to me because it's hard to comprehend anyone being so evil doing that. As Manuel said because it's so long ago you only remember the headlines and forget that children were involved.

Re: ITV: White House Farm (Jeremy Bamber)
Ref the kids, because of the severe, callous nature of what he did it's almost been overlooked that he is a child murderer, so above everything else that makes him just as bad as Brady and Huntley, if not worse since they were his own nephews. Hope he never sees the light of day again.

The kids would have been entitled to a share in the inheritance.

Watched the first two last night. Stephen Graham not up to his usual standard but it's a good but harrowing watch. Forgot about the kids. Why did he do it when the kids were there? It makes no sense.

Re: ITV: White House Farm (Jeremy Bamber)
There should be no double standards applied to the punishment of female murderers,

One of the perceived problems with UK capital punishment was its arbitrary nature. 90% reprieve rate for women, 40% for men.

Taking away the obvious sex discriminatory bias, why should one murderer hang and another get their sentence commuted? One of the factors that led to abolition.

Really enjoying this, frustrating you have to wait a week for the next episode!

Hopefully Bamber has had a shit time in prison for being a child killer.

Re: ITV: White House Farm (Jeremy Bamber)
Sorry, what I meant to get across, is that I don't see how there were any mitigating factors in her case. I am not in favour of capital punishment, but by the standards of the day, I don't see why she did not deserve to hang. There should be no double standards applied to the punishment of female murderers, no matter how glamorous or (in the case of Sally Challen) notionally feeble.

Didn't the silencer have Sheila's blood on it?

Nobody knows. The amount of blood on the silencer was insufficient for analysis

Cough

Why do you think she shouldn't have been hanged for it? It was premeditated murder.

Post world war 2, the reprieve rate for women who were sentenced to death and had their sentences commuted to life imprisonment, was over 90%.

Mandatory carrying out of the death sentence for murder involving a fire arm, was a result of the 1957 Homicide Act. Ellis was executed in 1955
